Did I Sleep Paralysis… or just dream that I had it?
So I was in bed last night, sleep got interrupted, and I was trying to go back to bed. Had a bunch of pretty realistic dreaming. Then I was ”in bed” “awoken again” and noticed my hair was strange and that my eyes and arms barely functioned. And it hit me. “I’m hallucinating in a dream.” Followed immediately by “oh crap, that could mean sleep paralysis hallucinations”
Of course, only moments later I’m in bed, can’t move, and I think to myself “I need to check my phone to set my alarm, I forgot to set one” and boom. Fully can’t move. Slam my eyes shut because I heard that helps. And I’m hearing static, hissing voices in my hear. Body filling with chills. Then of course the heavy weight. Voice gets super loud in my ear.
I’m wiggling like mad to wake up haha. And the voices and weight ebbs and flows eventually dissipating. And then I snap out of it.
The bed I was having paralysis in didn’t exist, it was just a dream. I didn’t need to check my alarm because the plans I was worried about were dreamed up. When I briefly opened my eyes during the terrors Is was not anything like my actual bedroom.
So, was that actual sleep paralysis, or just a nightmare ABOUT sleep paralysis?
