Newly diagnosed with Crohn’s

Hello all. So I’ve kinda been lurking a little bit just taking in everyone’s different experiences and stories, made me want to share my own I guess. I’m 29f and was recently in the last month diagnosed with Crohn’s. It’s been a hell of a ride it feels like. I’ve been dealing with chronic diarrhea for probably the last 10 years.. basically ever since I had my son. Brought it up to doctors and it’s always “lose weight, change your diet, you’ll feel better.” Because of insurance issues and I’ll admit I’ve been overweight, especially after pregnancy. It never seemed to matter what I ate, good for me or bad everything would run straight through me. I never had any severe pain thankfully and I think I just got used to feeling the way I do.. honestly I was starting to feel like I was losing my mind. Fast forward to earlier this year I found a NP that actually listens to me and wants to help (cried at the end of my first visit with her). She got me a referral to a sleep dr and a GI Dr, ran lab work (extremely anemic) started me on a GLP1, told me to take iron and vitamin D. Started feeling better, things were slowing down with my insides, got put on a cpap for sleep apnea, things are looking up right? Finally get in to see the GI doc in August (referral was sent in like February) explain my years of symptoms and that things are getting better, but oh wait I’m on these new meds, which are causing constipation, and now we are worried we are putting a bandaid on a bigger problem especially since my dad also has severe Crohn’s🙃. One colonoscopy, some lab work, and a stool sample later that she ordered stat, I have multiple ulcers in my terminal ilium, a fecal cal number of 812 and and elevated CRP and apparently I have a small intestine that shows a decent amount of Crohn’s and I’m in active inflammation with some mild narrowing of my terminal ilium. Now it’s been two weeks since my last appointment and I’m waiting to hear when I’m gonna start my imfleximab (spelling?), I’ve been having issues with diarrhea, cramps, fatigue, joint pain, some days I don’t even want to get out of bed. GP gave me a stimulant to help with exhaustion at work and something to help with my anxiety that has been constantly flaring.. I just wanna feel better and I feel bad even saying that cuz I know people have it so much worse. I guess I’m happy to know that I’m not crazy? I wish I could go tell all the past doctors that wouldn’t take me seriously a big ol FU but yeah. Probably a rambling post but I just wanted to share in a safe space I guess.💜
