“I don’t want my toys. Send them back to the store.”

2 Years Old ✌️

Today’s dose of drama.

We’ve managed to largely evade traditional tantrums when being told “no” as we get close to 2.5 but are instead dealing with a lot of excessive statements.

Last night he turned down his dinner, which was fine, but when he realized we weren’t going to offer alternatives, he sighed heavily and said “I don’t want anything. I want nothing. Nothing is all I want.”

I used to think it was really cool how his grammar has evolved and he can vary his sentence structure but lately it’s super tiny violin.

My tactic for now is to just give him space til he gets out of his funk. I’m not going to pressure him into being in a good mood. He’s not hurting anybody.

But I was a little miffed by this exchange -

“You’re not my mama.”

“Ok. So who am I?”

“You’re the worst person.”
