Doxycycline cured 7 years of SIBO. Augmentin (amoxicillin) just brought it back. Omg help...

In 2024 after 7 years of SIBO that responded to nothing, not even rifaximin, I was Rx'd doxycycline to deal with some adult acne/rosacea. It cured my sibo within days and eventually I even stopped taking it and had no issues. (Was on 100mg daily initially, then dropped to 50mg, stopped after maybe 4 months).

Until now. I had oral surgery last week and was Rx'd augmentin. And it's back. Symptoms are almost the same as before: I've got the hard distended 6 months pregnant looking stomach and inability to pass gas. What is different this time is that instead of constant diarrhea, I'm constipated.

I am at a loss. My life seriously changed when I got rid of SIBO the first time. I can't go back to this. Please, any advice or insight? Probiotics maybe? Try the doxy again?

Ugh.
