{Felicity Cabot Sells her soul by Aydra Richards}

This is Mercy and Charity’s sister, from the {Scandalous sisters series by Aydra Richards}

Ian Carlisle is Ebenezer Scrooge and I have been dying to read exactly this story for YEARS and I had literally been telling friends and family that.

Ian is controlling, pushy and I like him anyways. As usual, Richards’ MMC has depth. He’s not just these traits, and there is a history that led him to that behaviour

“Once I’m settled in London, I will send for you. We’ve waited this long already. What is another year or two?
She could still hear those words, rife with exasperation, as if they had never quite trickled out of her ears. Felicity slammed her fist into the pillow beneath her head. She had been so blind, so stupid. It had taken many long minutes for her to understand what he had been asking of her. To set aside their plans for a wedding that he’d promised would be soon forthcoming for longer still. Only to follow him to London at his convenience, leaving both her own career and the city that had become her home, on the strength of promises long stretched past their breaking point.”

I definitely started hearing “When Love is Gone” (from the Muppet’s Christmas Carol) while reading this. 😭😭😭

Ian is controlling, pushy and I like him anyways. As usual, Richards’ MMC has depth. He’s not just these traits, and there is a history that led him to that behaviour and the slow change where he’s literally trying to improve EVERYTHING around Felicity, while respecting her profession — >!he promoted her to headmistress! He put in the garden she had planned a decade ago<

Also I love that his devotion and obsession for Felicity doesn’t make him a good person, it doesn’t make him less dangerousl.

Also this is so romantic:

““I missed you,” he said softly, and his fingers drifted across the bed toward her—halfway and no further. “Ten years. That’s three thousand six hundred and fifty days, more or less. I missed you every one of them.”

TW: >!violence against FMC Felicity by 3rd party!<

The moment when Felicity >!realized that Ian had been handling the inexpensive (NOW but definitely expensive then by his relative spending) ring and it is worn and loved — and he must have had it in his pocket!< I almost cried.

The ending was so good.
