Hit GM with Reksai, my thoughts on Item builds

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/na/sil-431

I initially intended to learn support on this account so it sat around emerald 1 for a bit at 50% winrate before I decided to just play main role and climb. I hit masters with a 76% winrate on Reksai and peaked at a 78% Reksai winrate somewhere in low masters after a nice winstreak netting me the #1 Reksai NA spot on league of graphs for around 2 weeks. This is my highest ranked account now.

My hot take is going to be that crit Reksai is severely undervalued and more people should play it.

As far as I'm concerned there's 3 main builds on Reksai .
- Standard bruiser, this is generally the stridebreaker -> shojin setup
- Slightly more bursty bruiser, titanic -> shojin (or my preference, eclipse -> titanic)
- Crit, collector -> titanic -> situational

I played all of these builds for quite a bit during the climb and still situationally opt into all of them on occasion.

The standard bruiser setup is imo the best all around setup. The extra attack speed from stridebreaker makes Reksai kit feel very smooth, and the slow greatly helps if the enemy team has any form of mobility. I know a lot of people like running titanic into everything, but imo stridebreaker makes teams with champs like aurora/corki so much better to deal with because you can actually stick to them after your tunnel and get the knockup off. I tried running red smite for a while with titanic to make up for the stridebreaker slow (occasionally taking approach velocity with it), but the lack of blue smite felt like too big of a draw for this.

Next is the slightly more burst-focused bruiser setup which I usually run with titanic. I mainly opt into this setup if the enemy team has a lot of champs that need to fight me. Team comps focused on 2-3 champs like Xin/Jarvan/tank supports, bruiser tops, etc. Here I don't generally need stridebreaker to catch up to people and the extra hp/combat power from titanic helps a lot.

Finally crit Reksai . I played this build every single game until about m100, and now just pick it sometimes/situationally. The core of collector -> titanic is the strongest 2 item spike Reksai can get (at least for 1v1/2v2 fights), and lets her easily duel every champion in the game. Afterwards you can opt into either defensive stats with deaths dance/steraks or continue the crit with lord doms/ie/shieldbow. The obvious issue with this build is that team fighting is hard because you lose most of your ability to engage and can't really play on enemy backline without flash. Nowadays I mostly opt into it if the enemy team has some squishy assassins themselves that crit Reksai just completely nullifies. A Khazix or Akali can never go in if one knockup from me means they are instant one shot before the cc is over. I think at lower ranks however this build is almost always the correct choice. You have a lot more opportunities to catch someone off during rotations and make the fight a 5v4 before it even begins, it basically lets you play Reksai in midgame like an Elise looking for free picks. It also increases your clear speed letting you more easily keep up high cs numbers which is a pretty big benefit.

Recently I started picking her a little less because it feels like she falls off a bit in high master/gm games. Once macro gets more streamlined and more fights are 4v4/5v5 Reksai tends to feel a little bad imo so I opted into playing more Jarvan than Reksai lately. This might just be a skill issue on my part, but I consider my champ mastery on Reksai a good bit higher than j4 and still perform better on j4 so I'm kinda just going with what my winrate tells me.

Happy to answer any questions. Also I want to offer free coaching to like 2-3 people. If you are interested just send me a dm with your opgg. Requirements are good English, 100+ Reksai games this season, and minimum plat rank.
