Oriel preferencing conundrum

Appreciate this might have been answered before but I’m still unsure about this.

Let’s say you apply for ST1 in one specialty and ST3 in another (more desirable). You get the job offer for ST1 on 7th April but you’re due to hear from ST3 on 14th April. You can’t hold the offer for than 48hrs.

Can you rank all the ST1 jobs as “no preference” and if you don’t get the ST3 then rank them as “preference”, so that after the hold deadline you have a chance to get an ST1 offer?
