Am I truly in charge when using modafinil? This is known as the dilemma of control

I feel in control, organised, focused, and productive when I'm taking modafinil. However, occasionally I question whether I'm merely motivated by the medicine. It just happened; I didn't choose to work ten hours straight. I simply wasn't interested, so I didn't decide to ignore my phone all day. It gives me a sense of empowerment until I begin to wonder who is in charge. Is there anyone else who has this slight trade-off between compulsion and control?
