Is halloween dying?

Over the last couple of years it feels the number of kids who go out to trick or treat has dropped considerably, last year being especially deserted as i hardly saw anyone outside with a costume compared to almost a decade ago when it was brimming with trick or treaters. I wont be surprised if people don’t even bother putting up their decorations this year and for clarity I’m talking about the holiday tradition that is mainly based in the americas.
