How can I use a iMac (M4) with my MBP (M1) from work as a display?

Hi! I have one question about it. Can I just use a Thunderbolt 4 cable from my Mac to Thunderbolt port from MBP? It will work?

I don’t want lag, because there’s Apple ID accounts differently.

I’m think about buy a dock station with Thunderbolt ports to this. It will work?

In internet I just see things about it from older Mac, near 2015, but nothing about the new Macs.
