Late-Night Confessions Got Me Confused

I’m a 20M from India and I’ve been talking to this girl (also 20) for around 4 months. She’s an introvert, but she approached me over text in our 3rd year of college, and since then we’ve become good friends.

Things were going pretty normal until recently, when our conversations started turning segual. Honestly, she’s the one who initiated those talks. Just last night we had a late call where she brought it up again, and this time she actually confessed that she wants to date me and also have seg with me. She literally said, “You’re perfect for that,” and also mentioned, “I’ve imagined a lot to do with you.” and told me she wants to have seg with me.

When I responded with, “Okay, then let’s do it,” she immediately pulled back. She said something along the lines of, “I think that’s wrong. Even though it’s in our hands and we could do it privately, it would make me feel guilty. I don’t know how my future would be after that. It might be difficult for either of us to move on.”

But then, right after all that, she told me, “I want you to make me chase you.”

And now I’m just confused as hell. What exactly does that even mean? Is this just mixed signals, or is there some deeper psychology behind it?
