L2 in Nov - postpone or skip?

I am registered for the level 2 exam this November but will not be giving it as I have not been able to prep due to being miserable in my job.

I’ve thankfully just found a new job which will be starting next month and they say they sponsor as well. Should I pay out of my own pocket to postpone the date or just let the date go and miss my exam and then re-register through my new job (they have said they sponsor) when I am ready to give it?

Anybody knows what happens if you just don’t go for your exam without cancelling or postponing?
