Parking tips for The Whispers at Birchmere (Alexandria 10/10)

hey everyone, figured i'd share some parking advice for the whispers show since i've been to the birchmere a bunch. it can be a little tricky if you've never been.

honestly the easiest thing i've found is using an app called Prked. you can rent someone's driveway or garage right next to the Birchmere. it's usually way cheaper than the commercial lots and you can get a guaranteed spot a super short walk away. this way you totally skip the chaos of everyone trying to get out of the main lot at the same time.

the birchmere does have its own free parking lot which is awesome. the cost is kinda baked into your ticket fee. the main thing is that for popular shows it can fill up really fast. they do have some overflow parking across the street but for a sold out show you might be circling for a bit.

one heads up, the entrance is easy to miss. you can't really see the building from the street, so look for the blue and black "Birchmere Entrance" sign on Mount Vernon Ave and then drive all the way to the back.

if the main lot is full and you don't find anything else, there are some paid garages but they're not super close, maybe a 20-30 minute walk. so plan for that if you're thinking of going that route. also, there's no metro stop that's easy to walk from, you'd have to get a bus or an uber from the nearest station.

so yeah, my advice is get there early if you want to try for the free lot, or just book a spot on prked to save yourself the headache.

hope this helps and enjoy the show, it's gonna be a great one
