Can you find the 3 praying mantis in this photo?
I put two egg pouch things in the greenhouse and hundreds of them hatched. They got rid of all my ladybugs sadly but I think they ate most of each other too. The aphids and white fly vanished. There were around 10 big ones that lasted long term. I killed one on mistake by stepping on it on the floor and felt bad about it. There are at least 5 remaining (some found a way out and escaped) and I don't know the sex of them but I saw mating at one point so there must be at least some of each.
I don't know when they lay eggs but when they do I'm wondering if I should save them someplace cold where they get exposed to freezing temperatures over the winter. Keeping them in a heated greenhouse all winter might not encourage them to hatch? Not really sure. These were from wild egg sacks I found outside a previous year not purchased eggs.
