Why Sage is the worst/most horrifying Sonic character
Have you not realized the implications of Eggman's arc in Frontiers? Sympathetic Eggman can work, (Ovi Kintobor in Sonic the Comic) but this is not in that vein. The fact that him finally learning to love something other than himself is an AI, and THAT IS TREATED LIKE A GOOD THING says it all! The implications of an AI being what brings out Eggman's humanity are horrifying. Weirdly enough, I hope the idea came from Sega themselves, because if it was Ian's idea, that would be the only thing that could convince me on to cut him off of the Sonic franchise entirely. Not that they would do that now, (if he was the one who came up with the idea) Sega are clearly pro AI by this point.
Sage is the type of character that has already aged like milk, so the implications of her existence had to have been known during her creation, and that's the disturbs me the most. Remember Metal Sonic, a copy of Sonic without a heart or soul that's acknowledged as such? Thoughtlessly obeying the word of Eggman, with none of Sonic's free spirit. Well, until Meakawa wrote Metal as sympathetic in Heroes...
Sega are planning on using AI in their European and Japanese subsidiaries, need I say more on how Sage is the most horrifying Sonic character?
