Finally bought BG1

I've been playing BG2 for over 20 years now but never picked up the original. I've probably played just about every class at some point, but im still having trouble figuring out where to start. Im not used to low level play. I understand archery is much more powerful in BG1 but beyond that I can't figure out what to play for my inaugural run.

Give me some suggestions please!
