I need a good quality, high perf closed back setup that has replaceable cabling and no frippery like fine woods or whatnot.

The replaceable cable is a must, I've replaced the cabling on my open back unit twice so far and I may be moving into a situation with a potentially worse noise sit then before. If it can take high ohms, that is also good, as my AE-5 can support up to 600 ohm gains. I'm not too averse to spending a fair bit on the thing, including premium material for survivability, but I don't want nonsense like leather outside of the ear pieces or fancy wood! I am Canadian, for the record.

I like bass, but I want as much range of capability as possible. This is for a gaming PC that sees use for general purpose media and has an interal DAC. I've liked Sennheiser systems in the past, such as the HD 599.
