955 forward update

My 955 watch has had extremely inaccurate elevation gains for activities requiring adjustment through Strava every time. I’m taking 1000 ft gain recorded for a run which has less than 100 ft in reality. I finally tried clearing the barometric sensor by soaking in vinegar-water solution for two hours with no improvement (I know Garmin doesn’t recommend this but I’m at a loss as every other method does nothing). I’m wondering if their latest firmware update will fix the issue or I just have bad hardware. There seems to be quite a few with the problem judging by posts on their website.
