What do you think our trade will look like in 15 years?
I’m a third year apprentice and I’m intrigued what you think our industry will look like in years to come. With talks of gold card requirements to even get onto a site, the rise of renewable energy, AI etc. I’ll hear some say our industry is oversaturated, yet online will say there’s a shortage.
I had a conversation with somebody on a night out around 8 years ago now who was doing a masters in economics. She was adamant that in around 20 years from then, construction will boom, specifically electrics and plumbing. Is there any signs of this happening? All I hear at the moment is that people are earning more as dry liners and painters.
