Just wanted to talk to you all about an issue that's way too common in India, please take the time to read

Safety

As we all know, back in August last year, the RG Kar Case occurred. It was a horrific incident involving the r*pe of a young trainee doctor in Kolkata. It sparked a huge uproar, with many people discussing it on social media and taking to the streets to protest. However, I was genuinely so taken aback to see some of my literal friends claiming that it was the girl's fault. They blamed so many factors, such as her being out at night, even though she was LITERALLY WORKING. Everyone was blamed except the actual PERPETRATOR.

Upon digging a bit deeper, I found out the extent of the brutality that occurred that night and what she went through. It slowly became something that consumed my mind. I also found out that 86 cases occur nationwide on a daily basis.

What about the cases that aren't even reported? Why are women still unsafe wherever they go, whether it's in their workplace or even at home? Why are people not addressing this?

I genuinely could not just sit around and do nothing about it, so I decided to start an NGO called Project S.H.E. (Support, Help, Empower). We directly address r*pe, clearing up popular misconceptions and bringing well-researched facts and cases to light. We also assist survivors in need through our unique fundraisers and events. An event we recently hosted was Battle of the Bands, which garnered an insane amount of support, with around 500 people and 20 bands throughout Hyderabad coming to watch. We've already gained 2100 followers within just 5 months of starting the NGO.

All I ask for is your support in helping us achieve our goal and eliminate r*pe culture throughout the country. We would really appreciate if you checked out our account, @projectshe.ngo on Instagram. With your help, we would be able to cause a greater impact and drive change at a much faster pace.

Thank you so much for giving me your time, and enjoy the rest of your day.
