Need some advice on my options

I’m 29(M) from Sunderland and recently divorced. In the divorce I also lost the home I lived in and was forced to stay with my parents, where I’ve been for 8 months now.

I’ve been an undergraduate student for two years now so I only work part-time. So don’t earn a great deal of money.

In short, my parents have always been mentally abusive. They’re not good people, but I had no other choice at the time outside sleeping in my car. I have Crohns Disease which they refuse even acknowledge and berate me over. They’re drunks, loud, smoke weed and generally make life uncomfortable. My sister had the same and moved out years ago. But I can’t stay with her as she’s married with two kids.

I’ve tried everything. Student Accommodation wasn’t great thanks to a communal toilet and kitchen. Only certain things I can eat and I need facilities more than the average person. Plus being 29 I don’t feel appropriate living with 19-20 year olds. I don’t earn enough to privately rent. Unless of course I quit University entirely but why should I?

I have been in touch with Sunderland Council, sent them GP letters regarding my health and current living situation, and all I’ve gotten is put on a wait list for OT Assessment which can take forever.

I’m also currently waiting on the result of a PIP application, but I don’t hold out much hope.

Is there anything I haven’t tried? Anything I don’t know about? I’m at my wits end and sometimes suicidal. I do speak to a counsellor regularly so I am trying to take care of my mental health, not to worry.
