PT CEM quitting
I (26M) have been the PT CEM since 2023. As we all know, the PT CEM makes no money and gets no respect. I'm tired of it. I have a job interview for another job (in retail, for now) that will pay me better and hopefully treat me better.
How do I go about handing in the 2 week notice? I know it's right before the holidays and I really don't want to deal with backlash about quitting so suddenly, but I have been treated like garbage by mostly my FT CEM who acts like Idk what I'm doing even though I've been here longer than her. (She also acts like I'm some teenage first jobber when she's only two years older than me and knows this. Just a lot of condescending attitudes). Between this and the fact that over the past 2 years I have lost money working here due to having to constantly dip into my savings for things like rent and bills, and the fact that all I do is just the stuff that none of the other managers that actually get paid more want to do, I'm really just over working here.
Since I'm basically just the night time cleanup crew, I don't see my store manager often. Should I just type something out, put it in an envelope and leave it for her? I know backlash could be considered retaliation, but still. My position as PT CEM feels extremely replaceable and I guess now the other managers have to close. Sorry.
Have any other managers quit so close to the holidays? How did it go? Any advice about how to go about it? If I get this other job I'm putting in my two weeks as soon as I find out.
