Throwaway account.

First four pics were taken yesterday night and last three are after the session, as you can see I had/ve folliculitis on my chin.

It’s been 5 years I learned about electrolysis and always wanted to do it but price AND lack of practitioners in my country (France) and area made me never do it.

Up until last month where upon searching again I found a salon opened a few months ago in my area and was doing electrolysis. I decided to make a first consultation since it was free of charge. She could see during the appointment that I was very well versed in electrolysis after reading for months on end… I said I had PCOS etc and she estimated I’d need 45 mins with the growth I had last week. Price is still high but I’m being depressed having to pluck daily.

Today was my first session ever… pain was so manageable honestly, maybe because I tried at home IPL for a bit during COVID I wasn’t surprised… the area where it “hurt” the most is one where I have a scar on my chin (audhd + dyspraxia combo is fun to have) but even there it really is like an uncomfortable feeling but not really pain. I was very satisfied as I only felt a pull twice, once at the start while she was testing out, and maybe one during accidentally. Other times when it resisted she “treated” it again.
The machine used is an Apilus Xcell Pur and from what I’ve seen the method is called “meloflash”.

I’d say 90% was treated in those 45 minutes, only a few white hairs remain on my chin, mustache was untreated this time and under lip hair too. She cleared the two hairs I had on my right cheek too. Next appointment is next week for 1 hour, if I have had a growth by then and to treat untreated hairs/areas that we couldn’t do today, but if I feel like my skin hasn’t healed by then I can move it to the next.

I’m currently applying ice (ice pack in a towel) on treated areas as I’ve read it can help with soothing. She told me to use antiseptic and cicaplast and advise that I exfoliate 5 to 3 days before our next appointment (next week). I do not have witch hazel and my regular cleaning products contain salicylic acid which I’ve read I should avoid using? I’ve bought cerave cleanser but found that it also has salicylic acid in it :/
Things I have: Vaseline, aloe Vera gel, cicaplast B5, hydrocortisone cream, betadine. I already drink a lot (3L/day)
