My employer is no longer paying me, but expects me to continue working everyday

We are supposed to get retro pay but the CEO has had thousands of lawsuits from people who were never paid money he contractually owed them. The head of HR wants everyone in my unit to feel traumatized and like villains, for proving people necessary public services. We were never specifically told that we were no longer going to be paid, we have to get our information from the news. We have been told the economy and job market are the best they’ve ever been, oddly there doesn’t seem to be much hiring going on.
