I suck at this game

Well I'm not surprised as a new player tbh

I just had my first MP games, and compared to my experienced team mate (which I appreciate for not ditching or insulting me for basically throwing the game) because all I would do is buy expensive tanks and use the direct control to try and make plays with them.

In the early game this worked to my benefit, I wiped out most enemy infantry going for points and I basically had map control with my team mates, but as soon as they pulled out 2 panzers they would just beat everything I threw out, not even sending a lighter tank forward and the heavier tank behind helped, two panzers just stood still in their places and sniped.

In short, how the hell do I actually play as a good team mate, I watched a lot of guides already but obviously they haven't helped tactics wise.
