Advice for potential first time home buyer.

I have put together 150k CND. I currently make around 90k+ depending on OT and it will look more like 110k - 130k in 2-3 years.

I am looking at houses around 750k- 850k ish. I am just wondering if putting down 20% is the best bet ? Should I have a war chest of say 50k for emergencies before buying ?

I have no debt, late 30s.

I have been saving and investing to get this nest egg together for almost 10 years and I am finally sort of close to seriously looking at houses. Just looking for some advice.
