Canadian nannies - do you find families expect you to take on everything (childcare, pet care, full housekeeping, even personal support worker–type tasks) on top of caring for the kids?
I have about 4 years of childcare experience and personally think childcare should mean childcare (with some light housekeeping related to the kids). But I keep running into “full-time” postings where they want nanny + housekeeper + pet sitter + gardener and then offer to pay below minimum wage.
Has this become a norm? Do people accept these roles, or is it basically exploitation? Would love to hear from others working as nannies here.
