Cupping - I Had a Terrible Experience With It; Anyone Else?

My (former) physical therapist did it a single time in July 2022, on my left kneecap. I was seeing him for patellar maltracking. It was a disaster. Within hours, I knew I had a massive problem on my hands - I had a ton of pain and the maltracking was worse. More than 3 years later, my left knee is still not as healthy as it was before he did the cupping.

I have no idea why this turned out to be such a disaster.

Has anyone else had negative experience with cupping for a knee injury?
