Is running an EV really as cheap as I have calculated?
Hi all,
I'm new to EV so hopefully I'm not asking something that's already been asked a lot.
Starting a new job soon which requires me to be driving approx 1000 miles per month. I'm therefore looking at leasing a car to ensure reliability and have a manageable monthly cost.
Given that I'm looking at leasing I thought I might as well consider EVs. I've done a quick calculation on Google Gemini and it is telling me with the current fuel price it would cost £152 a month in petrol with my current vehicle.
I know it depends on the car but on average it seems to think with an EV, if I charged at home on an Ocotpus Energy EV tarrif, the equivalent mileage would cost just £19.50 a month during summer and £26 per month during winter.
Does this sound about right? It seems almost too good to be true.
Thanks in advance!
