this game has become my new obsession [GnollHack] [spoilers below]

Spoiler

i just discovered this game last week. i haven't played the original version, nethack, but i don't suppose it's extremely different from the mobile fork? anyway, i am just absolutely amazed at the level of depth (πŸ˜‚) this game has. plus I've always been a huge D&D nerd so this scratches that itch just right. i am sooo happy!!! i wish i could have experienced this in the 80s when this came out. i feel like a kid again! πŸ₯²

i am playing this game completely blind using only what help the game offers me. it's been the most frustrating yet exhilirating gaming experience I've had in a long time. i love that there's a huge community around it, too!

the farthest I've gotten was depth level 22 in the dungeon with a level 16 neutral human priest. i died to starvation because of my randomly teleporting condition, whatever that was. i think i ate something with a teleporting ability. i was dying of hunger, and finally found the delicatessen in mine town. just as i was about to purchase a mushroom, i got teleported all the way across the map, and died soon after. so anticlimactic 🀣

the next farthest was with a solo level 14 orc barbarian, no allies, no reading or wands allowed. being solo felt better than constantly watching my allies die 😒 and the challenge was fun. i was happy to have died gloriously vs dying to hunger lmfao. i fought in the zoo of sokoban on level 2 and died while fighting the archmage and 2 dragons at once lol.
