Gamepass shenaningans and cross-save with Steam

So, I was playing through Silksong on gamepass pc, but since microsoft said screw you to everybody and doubled the price of the service, I just canceled it and intend to got to Steam (I was going to buy the game there sometime nonetheless since I more than pleased to contribute with Team Cherry. But there is a problem, I’m at the final boss of act 3, but I’m not able to play since I’m travelling for business sake now, when I get home my gamepass won’t be on. If I try to play it ok steam, will I mantain my progress in the game? I will absolutely replay it sometime, but I just want to finish my first run for now.
