Koh Samui, good location and hotel recommendations?

I want to goto Koh Samui in January. Currently looking at Hyatt regency, has anyone ever stayed here? I also would like to go out and enjoy nightlife, dont mind if i have to take a grab/taxi within a reasonable time/distance. Open to other suggestions, im willing to spend up to $3-400 usd a night for accommodations. TIA
