Arrested at ICE Protest in Los Angeles! Recs?

My friend and I were arrested after an ICE protest (we were out 10 minutes past curfew and in the process of walking home). They charged us with a misdemeanor for unlawful assembly (which apparently is worse than a curfew violation).

Our court date is on Monday (10/6) and I told her I’d hire a lawyer for us (she’s much younger than me). Any recommendations for a lawyer please??

ETA: I’ve heard some people say public defender but I don’t know how that works or if it’s reliable. I want to be able to promise her I’ll get this removed from her record (and mine)
