Am I the only one to think that Dark Horse is a bad name?

💬 Discussion

I mean, Mustangs enjoy such a long history of performance versions that it would not feel unnatural to re-use a historical name like they previously did with the GT, GT350/500, the Mach 1, the Bullit (even not a true historical trim), the Boss. It feels like they could have reused the SVT Cobra name (never used in modern Mustangs since 2004) or even the Boss name (not used since 2013). Or - if going in the same direction as they did with Bullit - call it Eleonor.

I get the point about rejuvinating the Mustang brand but it's not like Dark Horse is a superb name / logo either. I guess it's OK and it will probably mean something in the future but well...When I bought my s650 I chose the GT because I used own a 1966 GT a looooonnng time ago and I was happy the trim still existed. If the s650 would have come as a Mach1/Boss I would have probably hesitated a bit more ...

Maybe that's just an old fart PoV, but I'd love to hear what you think.
