references for a recently graduated medical doctor

Hello!

I‘m applying for SHO posts in Ireland as a recently graduated doctor who graduated abroad in a European country. Some applications request a minimum number of references. But the thing is, i’ve never worked in an Irish hospital before. I completed a supervised internship abroad but this was considered a part of my final years studies.

I was wondering how i can get some references. Should i email some of the doctors i did my supervised internship with? Should i put all my energy into doing a clinical observation so i can use that as a reference? I would really appreciate any advice about this and I’m really sorry if this was posted recently here.
