Is there any truth to the bad name attached to Goa campus?

My coaching professors and some relatives who are into counselling are recommending students to choose Pilani and Hyderabad over Goa because they say people mostly go to Goa for enjoyment and get distracted and when they get bad grades, they start taking drugs which leads to suicides. Is there any truth to this?
