Finally Passed the CPA Exam Looking for Advice
I finally passed the CPA exam, and it feels like such a relief after a long journey. Since I’ve never worked in a CPA firm, most of my accounting experience has been limited to working part-time as an accounts payable clerk at a mid-sized company. Over the past couple of years, I’ve been working outside of accounting while studying, so I’ve felt a little out of the loop.
For preparation, I used a mix of resources, but I found the SkillCertExams practice sets especially helpful. They kept me disciplined and gave me confidence by simulating real exam-style questions, which really made a difference for me.
Now that I’ve passed, I’m focusing on the next step. I’ve already sent out resumes to a number of CPA firms in my area but haven’t heard anything back yet. I’m also considering government roles as another path.
For anyone who’s been in a similar situation do you have any advice on breaking into the field after passing, even without direct CPA firm experience?
