I wanna play and create music so bad

I wanna play and create music so much, I love music it's the greatest thing ever, but I just can't seem to consistently sit down and play guitar without feeling like me family is judging me or I'm just not doing well and I feel even worse about it because, my friend that started playing around the time I did can play really well I'm just looking for advice.
