DAE consider the battleships the closest things you were ever going to get to mages and clerics in mecha anime like Mobile Suit Gundam?

Like they share much of the exact same roles as mages and clerics. They repair mobile suits and heal up their pilots in much of the same way a cleric heals their party members in battle. And they provide long-range artillery support for the frontline mobile suits in much of the same way as mages. Which, to me, makes MS's (and MA's, in their own ways) almost the equivalent of warriors (heavy armor, shields, melee weapons) and rogues (light armor, thrusters, ranged weapons).

So does anyone else share the exact same sentiment I do about spaceships and MS's, as well?
