Sharing my cat’s story here:

I met her at a random park 2 years ago. I was broke AF because I was jobless, our family cat passed away too, and I was 12 hours away from home. I didn’t feel deserving of having any pet at that time because I was living in a studio apartment (no pets allowed) and I didn’t have enough to make ends meet.

Moreover, I got the basic burger from McDonald’s for my dinner and went at a nearby park to eat it. While doing so, I saw a big stray cat beating up a kitten. They were fighting over some leftover food from McDonald’s. Later on, it was quite crowded at the park despite it being late at night already (around 10pm). The kitten went to me and started crying. I saw her and told her that I’m broke and can’t afford food (I usually talk to stray animals). I felt so bad so I let her roam to find something to eat.

Just when I thought she left, she started rubbing her body on my leg. I decided to get her after 5 minutes and told myself, “fuck it, I’m gonna figure this out”. I put her on a motorcycle helmet and brought her in my studio apartment. I rushed to check my bags and the corners of my pad to check for coins and bought her 2 packs of wet food. I gave her a shower to remove all the dirt and fed her. She was sooooo hungry and thirsty that I had to give her another pack (which was supposed to be her food the next day). She slept the whole night and until late afternoon the next day. To feed her, I posted her on Facebook and asked strangers for help — which they did. I cried out of joy! I was able to buy her a 2kg of dry cat food and wet food too. I was grateful. I kept her hidden in my apartment. I think she understood that she has to be quiet all the time because she didn’t make noise that much (even until we left and move back home).

A few days later, I was lined up in an online interview for a remote job I applied for. I remember praying so hard to get the job and I was so so so nervous. She was sleeping on my lap the whole interview and I got right in! That company usually has 3-4 interviews but I went straight to the final after the initial!! On my first paycheck, I bought a big fish and fed her the whole thing as a treat. I also knew she was my luck!

Since then, we’d sleep together (she usually love sleeping beside my head), go to the beach, and hang out. She also got fat and had her kids. I now have 4 cats in total. Her kids are pretty aloof but I’d find them outside my window every night, guarding me up. Lol!

I named her Girly Park.

To be loved is to be changed 😺
