Seeing S1E1 again after finishing…

Micah used to have the same accent as Ethan. He really does not sound like that at all anymore.
Kim looked so much healthier. I think she was sneaking candy bars back then, but not alcohol.
I forgot Hosanna was in the episode for a second. A show featuring Hosanna would definitely not have gotten a second season.
Olivia is controlling. I like her so much more than any of the Plaths. I wish her all happiness. But I also think she likes to be in charge. That probably felt familiar and safe to Ethan, since Kim was so controlling. I would also say Olivia is a little manipulative, not surprising being one of the older kids in a huge fundie family. Almost inescapable, really.
Kim said the lord audibly told her Barry would be her husband. Barry was older and divorced. I think Kim wanted a provider and got one.
I believe Lydia and Moriah resented each other and the sisterly relationship we see in earlier seasons was manufactured by the producers. I bet they never speak now.
I believe there was financial abuse here, same as with the Duggars. The family band…the kids having to earn money and buy everything for themselves before age 18, the mlm/credit card theft. I bet we will never know how much. I bet the little girls haven’t gotten a penny from the show.
