Was a 7900XTX a good buy for 800. Or would a 40 o 5080 super been better?
I ended up with $10k and while I spent seven of that 10 on family. I did make a brand new PC for myself. (Alongside getting a 1440p monitor)
I am a bit annoyed by Nvidia. (I did hate on the og framegen shit when it game out with the 40s but after using it, it wasn't as bad as I thought.) So when I was building this system, I wanted a full Red build. Thus I bought the strongest AMD card I could, a 7900XTX. (My full build has a 9 9950x3d 32gb 6000mhz and put a 4tb 14,000mb/s nvme)
My old build, (7800x3d - 4070 - 32 4800mhz) I am giving to my brother, and I have felt how much faster my pc feels... But I feel like I need validation that I am not mega retarded for buying the XTX when I could of just gotten a 9070xt for like, $100 less. Or maybe got a 40 or 5080 super for like $300 - $400 more.
Maybe it's the fact I tried to play bl4 and it runs like pure ass due to upscale optimization copeium the devs were snorting. But makes me just, mildly concerned that I should of been less zealous and got an Nvidia card.
And before idiots say I should of kept the 4070. My brother is still running the Chad that is the 1080ti in his build from 2018. And while he mainly plays runescape, he got his kid a meta 3 and now needs a pc to support it for him and his kid.
