Bought vehicle out of state, cannot transfer city sticker without registration, waiting for registration in mail?

Hey guys!

So 3 weeks ago I bought a car from the dealer and financed it out of state. I paid the IL taxes and the dealership had me sign a POA to apply for the title on my behalf, and I received a temp registration.

The issue is I just went to the city clerk to try and transfer stickers, but they do not accept temp registrations. My 30 day grace period is coming up and I doubt my title will come in the mail by then.

So the question- how do I avoid city sticker tickets after my 30 day grace period is up?

First time transferring a sticker in chicago, first time buying a car out of state, and not looking forward to collecting a bunch of parking tickets!
