Government Accounting vs. Healthcare Accounting

Recent grad working in Governmental accounting. While I have no issue working up the ladder, working 30 years, and receiving that pension. I just wanted to get some insight on the 2 different sectors. Say I get 5-6 years in, would I be able to transfer over to healthcare accounting for say a regional hospital? If you’re in either sector, what was your path like and how did compensation and role increase over time? Just any general information about your journey… I just want to hear it.

Also, would getting my Masters be beneficial??? And if I receive a masters does it have to be MAC or can it be an MBA??
