I have lately become well enamored of Ninja.
Took me far too long to appreciate this card. My incomplete assessment was that it was an annoying Shadow attack. It's now become one of my favorite 4 cost cards. Not that it's the best 4 cost, just that I smile when it shows up. I used to not smile.
I had a peasant game yesterday (love Peasant games!), and was able to hang +action on Ninja. Suddenly it's a Library (increase hand size by one, don't change the action count) with a Discard attack attached.
Today I had a game where Shantytown, Hunting Lodge, and Marquis were the villages and main draw. Three Ninja at the bottom of the deck with enough villages, and Marquis gets even better!
It's funny how our opinions of cards changes over time. When I started back in March, I just loved Village. Like a lot of brand new players. It's still OK, but it's absolutely the generic version of it's name. Even more than Peddler's a peddler. And Gold: I thought Gold was somethin'. In truth, both of those cards are more valuable when playing only Base, but even there, they aren't as precious as I thought those first few weeks. But this effect just keeps happening.
I keep learning/discovering stuff all the time. I think that's why I live this game!
