Finally decided to quit my higher studies

Story Time :tea:

This wasn’t an impulsive thought—I’ve been going back and forth for days, listing down all the pros and cons, and I’ve come to the conclusion that dropping out is the better choice for me right now.

Background: I completed my BTech in 2024, then started preparing for GATE and jobs. I cleared GATE 2025, but not with a rank high enough to land a PSU. So, I thought of joining an MTech in a state college, assuming the academic pressure would be manageable and I could still prep for jobs on the side. But reality hit differently.

The academic pressure was intense—professors randomly called out students in class and if you couldn’t answer, you’d just get insulted. That meant I had to prepare daily just for survival, which totally ate into my job prep time. On top of that, the administration was a mess, and my roommate wasn’t exactly supportive either. Slowly I felt myself breaking down mentally because nothing was going according to plan.

Then came the bigger blow: I suddenly developed severe shoulder and neck pain and was diagnosed with upper cervical spondylitis. Writing became a struggle. Even after physiotherapy, the doctor told me to avoid stressing my right hand too much. At that point, I realized I was draining myself both physically and mentally.

I’m not someone who gives up easily, but this time I’ve chosen to step back.
