First Family Trip Post DDay

My SA husband, our two kids, and I are leaving tomorrow for a trip to a pretty cool place. We’ll be road-tripping it for 18hrs or so. I’m scared I’m going to ruin the trip by being triggered or that my broken foot will hinder everyone else’s fun.

I’m also scared because after we visited this same vacation destination almost exactly 6 years ago, my husband acted out with his first escort like a week or two later. I can’t understand why that would be. He had opportunity with a business trip, sure, but what else about a family vacation (that was truly magical in my eyes) created the means necessary to take that next step in escalating his behaviors? I’ll never know and I’m scared to replicate that.

Please, if you have it in your heart, wish me well! If you’re the praying type, please pray that this further bonds our family together and heals some of the wounds of the past. Pray that we have a good time and that the vacation is a sure step forward in the right direction.
