Utility bill mailing
I'm sure everyone has got these emails from utility companies or banks saying that it's still your responsibility to pay the bill even though you don't get it due to account strikes.
My question is this. Aren't they responsible to provide me with a bill by mail since this was my contractual agreement with them? If they want to use Canada Post that's fine, but we can also use something else to get the bill in my hands.
I definitely understand the push towards online billing and this is one more step towards that. What I don't understand is how are they legally able to wipe their hands clean from any responsibility? Is there someone in our service agreements when we sign up for a credit card or a utility account that it can only be delivered with Canada Post?
