imposter syndrome and feeling like my future is crumbling
i’m an international student junior with a 3.68 gpa :(. i’ve done a bunch of research, i’ve shadowed a family physician, haven’t properly started studying for the mcat and don’t think i will be able to because i am struggling so hard to keep my gpa right now. i am currently taking physics biochem bio and a humanities class and the three labs along with my anxiety getting super bad are just absolutely cooking me. i feel so inadequate whenever i get an exam back and i feel so hopeless about med school that im constantly just thinking of other options. hopefully i will have a high 3.7 gpa by the time i am applying and some volunteer / clinical hours. i am mainly aiming for DO because being an intl student its already so tough for me to get into med school.
i just need some success stories or maybe even some alternate pathways that’ll help give my mind enough peace to continue working for this. the whole political situation of having to give 100k for a work visa is also so tough on me right now because i think that destroys my chances of staying in the US if i wanted to take a gap year. are there any other people in my position?
