I am doing an experiment with sports betting on Polymarket and decided to make posts my picks here weekly. I am on my third week so I will Post the past two weeks results as well. I am only betting small amounts for now and plan to gradually increase if my bankroll allows. I try to have a certain # of flat bets per game that I can make in my bankroll at all times. Currently I am doing $2 per game.

Polymarket Overview:

In case you don’t know how Polymarket works I’ll briefly explain. You buy and sell shares on the outcome of specific result of an event. Each share will be priced between $.01 and $1.00. A winning outcome will always result in a dollar being returned to you per share that you purchased. Let’s use 49ers vs. Chargers as an example. The market price for Chargers might be $.80 per share, and $.20 share for the 49ers. If you bought 1 share of a betting on a chargers win and they won, you would win the $1 and your profit would be $.20 for that 1 share. If the 49ers won, you would get $1 returned and profit $.80.

Shares for underdogs will be priced much lower and the potential their return much higher, like any sportsbook. Effectively these work the same way as Moneyline odds but are a bit more straightforward presentation and there is no vig built into the price.
